The Olive Temple, formerly AMG Karabelas, has won two awards at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
It feels amazing to win two Gold Awards for our local Tsabidoelia (Laurel & Flame Fresh) and blended Koroneiki with Kolireiki (Laurel&Flame Olympia PGI) in the world’s most prestigious competition for the second year in a row.

The Greek producer earned two Gold Awards for its Laurel & Flame Fresh, an organic medium Botsikoelia, and its Laurel & Flame Olympia PGI, an organic medium blend.
"t feels amazing to win two Gold Awards for our local Tsabidoelia (Laurel & Flame Fresh) and blended Koroneiki with Kolireiki (Laurel&Flame Olympia PGI) in the world’s most prestigious competition for the second year in a row," co-owner Alexis Karabelas said.
In the 2022/23 crop year, The Olive Tempe produced 25 tons of extra virgin olive oil. While the harvest was bountiful, Karabelas said he struggled to find workers.
"The main challenge we faced was the absence of workers," he confirmed. "We want to be fast in order to harvest the healthiest olive fruits. Finally, all went smoothly."
