Showa Farm Triumphs in World Competition
California producer Showa Farm has won its fourth award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

The Sonoma County-based producer earned a Gold Award for its organic medium Arbequina. The brand earned a Gold Award in 2019 and Silver Awards in 2020 and 2022.
"Winning in the largest extra virgin olive oil competition in the world is very important to us as we continue to strive to produce the finest olive oil in the world," owner Geoffrey Peters said.
In the 2022/23 crop year, Showa Farm harvested 10 tons of olives to produce its extra virgin olive oil. Peters added, "optimizing for taste rather than volume" remains one of Show Farm's most significant challenges.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
