D'uliva from Italy has won its premier award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

What an achievement. We have worked very hard, and production has been lower than expected. We are optimistic going forward.

Rita Guastella, owner

The Tuscany-based producer earned a Silver Award for a medium blend. "What an achievement," owner Rita Guastella said.

"We have worked very hard, and production has been lower than expected," she added. "We are optimistic going forward."

Like many other producers from Italy, Parekh said the 2022/23 crop year was a challenging one, but she remains optimistic about the future.

"Challenging year, but what a great one," she added. "We are on the path to being organic and are already PGI. We're very happy with the results."
