Showa Farm Returns to Winning Ways
Showa Farm returned to winning ways at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality competition, earning a Silver Award for its organic Arbequina extra virgin olive oil.

The California-based producer previously earned Gold and Silver Awards for the delicate monovarietal at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
"I’m delighted that our focus on quality over quantity is being increasingly recognized," owner Geoff Peters said. "I look forward to the day when consumers view high-quality olive oil like fine wine."
Despite facing some difficulties in contracting enough workers to help during the harvest, Showa Farms produced five tons of olive oil in the 2020/21 crop year using traditional methods.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is held each spring in New York. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
