The Istrian producer earned a Gold Award for an organic medium-intensity Buza. "Winning at NYIOOC confirms our commitment to producing high-quality olive oil," owner Giancarlo Zigante said.
"It brings visibility and credibility to our company and products," he added. "We are grateful for this achievement and look forward to continuing to provide the best possible products for our customers."
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company produced 3,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"Our aim is to provide the best quality olive oil to our customers, but this harvest presented challenges," he said. "The hot and dry weather caused the olives to ripen faster and reduced the harvesting window."
"Despite this, we worked tirelessly to produce high-quality olive oil and are excited to share it with our customers," Zigante added.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
