Hellenic Fine Oils Returns to Winning Ways at 2023 NYIOOC
Greek producer Hellenic Fine Oils has won its third award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
It is always an honor to win an award at competitions. However, an award from the NYIOOC has a special place in our hearts and is very important to our customers and consumers.

Based in Lakonia, the company earned a Silver Award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its Sparta brand, a medium Koroneiki. Hellenic Fine Oils previously earned a Gold Award in 2021 and a Silver Award in 2019.
"It is always an honor to win an award at competitions," chief executive Nicky Giavroglou said. "However, an award from the NYIOOC has a special place in our hearts and is very important to our customers and consumers. It feels like coming home every year."
After a difficult start to the 2022/23 crop year, Giavroglou said he finally enjoyed a fruitful harvest, with the NYIOOC award capping off another successful season.
"This year was marked by some difficulties at the beginning of the harvest," he said. "These difficulties were overcome as we went on with olive picking. Our efforts were finally rewarded with premium quality olive oil."
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
