Ol’eve Wins 3 Awards at World Competition
Ol'eve from the Greek island of Lesvos has won three awards at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
Our goal was to produce the best olive oil in the best way possible, and this has become reality now. We have changed the micro-climate of where we farm and mill.

The producer earned three Gold Awards for its Faros Sigri brand, an organic medium blend, and two organic medium early harvest monovarietals – a Kolivi and Kalamata.
"Our goal was to produce the best olive oil in the best way possible, and this has become a reality now," co-owner Evangelos Tirpintris said.
"We have changed the micro-climate of where we farm and mill," he added. "Our initial goals were relevant to improving the environment while enhancing the market with an exceptional extra virgin olive oil."
In the 2022/23 crop year, Tirpintiris said the company harvested 75,000 tons of olives to transform into extra virgin olive oil but added that this figure would continue to rise as he planted new trees.
"On the island of Lesvos in Greece, the sunlight is consistent, and the Mediterranean climate is at its peak," he said. "Our challenges are mainly caused because we are organically cultivating, and it's hard to manage invasive species such as insects."
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
