Olivicoltore Awarded for Organic Nocellara at NYIOOC
Sicilian producer Vincenzo Signorelli Olivicoltore has won a Gold Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
I am so proud to be awarded at the 2022 NYIOOC. It required a great effort and a long time to reach the quality requested by the contest.

Situated on the slopes of Mount Etna, the producer earned its first-ever NYIOOC award for its Foglie Di Platino brand, an organic medium Nocellara del Belice.
"I am so proud to be awarded at the 2022 NYIOOC. It required a great effort and a long time to reach the quality requested by the contest," said Vincenzo Signorelli, the company's chief executive.
"We already export to the West Coast of the United States and now it's the right time to introduce our extra virgin olive oils to New York and Boston," he added.
Signorelli attributed his success to hard work and a meticulous production and milling process.
"I selected only the best production from our olive groves (premier cru), harvesting very carefully in optimal conditions and milling the olives as quickly as possible," he said.
"The freshly extracted olive oil was immediately filtered and stored in a controlled atmosphere for a sufficiently long time before being bottled," Signorelli added.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
