Montearagueña de Transformaciones Awarded at World Competition
Family farmers Montearagueña de Transformaciones have won a Silver Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
The award is a great recognition of the work, effort and enthusiasm of four generations of our family. We are a small company but we combine a series of values and a tradition of more than 100 years.

Located near the historic city of Toledo, in Castilla-La Mancha, the second-largest olive oil-producing region in Spain, the company earned the award for its Olium Montearagón brand, an organic medium Cornicabra.
"The award is a great recognition of the work, effort and enthusiasm of four generations of our family," said Alejandro Colado, the company's chief executive. "We are a small company but we combine a series of values and a tradition of more than 100 years."
In the 2021/22 crop year, the company produced 25 tons of organic extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"The main challenges of this campaign have been to maintain the clear commitment to quality, which has been increasing year after year, and at the same time generate the least possible impact on the environment," Colado said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
