Vinarija Birin Awarded for Outstanding Oblica
Vinarija Birin from Croatia has won a Gold Award at the 2025 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
The Dalmatian winery and olive oil producer earned its third accolade at the world's largest olive oil quality contest for its Birin Oblica brand, a medium-intensity Oblica.
"The award gives me more wind in my back," owner Nikola Birin said. "It is extra special for my company and me because we make olive oil from Oblica, the most common olive in Dalmatia. "
The producer previously earned a Gold Award in 2021 and a Silver Award in 2022.
Vinarija Birin produced 500 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods in the 2024/25 crop year. Birin said high temperatures resulted in an early harvest, his most significant challenge last season.
Vinarija Birin is listed in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking.
