Vinarija Birin Awarded for Oblica at 2021 NYIOOC
Croatian producer Vinarija Birin has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
This means that we have done a good job, but we must improve more. It's good not just for the company, but for the whole region of Dalmatia.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 500 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Dalmatia from Oblica olives using traditional harvesting methods. Vinarija Birin earned its first-ever Gold Award for a medium Oblica.
"This means that we have done a good job, but we must improve more," owner Nikola Birin said. "It's good not just for the company, but for the whole region of Dalmatia."
He added that olive growing is always a challenge with the weather and 2020 was no different.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. The annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
