a year agoBy OOT Staff

Italian producer TRE Olive has won a Silver Award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

We are extremely proud to be recognized by the NYIOOC for the efforts made by our team as we continue to improve in all areas of production.

Based in Calabria, Italy's second-largest olive oil-producing region, the company earned its fifth award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for a medium-intensity Carolea.

"We are extremely proud to be recognized by the NYIOOC for the efforts made by our team as we continue to improve in all areas of production," said co-owner Joa Maruca. "The awards help motivate us to strive for a quality product."

In the 2023/24 crop year, TRE Olive produced 40,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.

"The hot and dry summers have made the harvest less productive over the last several years," Maruca said. "We also battled the olive fruit fly in our area."
