The Bay Area company earned its debut awards at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its medium-intensity Estate Blend and Italian Blend brands.
"This is The Ranch at Birch Creek's first time entering the NYIOOC, and we are thrilled to have received Silver for our olive oils," said co-owner Linda Marshall. "Being an international competition, it gives us great pleasure to not only enter but also win this prestigious competition."
In the 2023/24 crop year, the company harvested 8.5 tons of Arbequina, Picual, Hojiblanca, Frantoio, Coratina and Pendolino olives using traditional methods to produce its extra virgin olive oil.
"The olive fruit fly is always a challenge," Marshalls said. "Fortunately, we were able to keep it under control and harvest clean olives this year."
