Podere Il Montaleo Wins Gold Again at World Competition
Italian producer Podere il Montaleo has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
I’m very grateful and honored for this NYIOOC award. It’s a very big pleasure and a big recognition for me and the company. This award can only help me to continue and improve, to do the best that I possibly can.
Cesare Diddi Mussi, owner
In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 6,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Tuscany from olives using traditional methods. Podere Il Montaleo earned the Gold Award for a medium blend.
"I’m very grateful and honored for this NYIOOC award," owner Cesare Diddi Mussi said. "It’s a very big pleasure and a big recognition for me and the company. This award can only help me to continue and improve, to do the best that I possibly can."
The producer behind the award-winning Podere Il Montaleo brand added that winning his second-consecutive Gold Award is the realization of a long-held dream.
"Since I opened the farm, I had this dream: an oil mill that I personally use," Diddi Mussi said. "It allows me to achieve something from start to finish, without a third party altering or modifying my product. In this way, I understand what I should improve and the final result will depend solely on my work."
