I feel a sense of pride and satisfaction to win such a prestigious award after a troubling year.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 600 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil in Cilento from a blend of olives using traditional methods. La Casa del Sole earned the Silver Award for its organic medium blend.
"I feel a sense of pride and satisfaction to win such a prestigious award after a troubling year," owner Margherita Romio-Perisco.
She added that the award was even more gratifying after the producer overcame a large drought in the region during the harvest.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
