The Victoria-based producer earned its third-straight NYIOOC accolade for its Leontyna Black Label brand, a medium-intensity Picual.
"It's fabulous and were very excited to receive another award from New York; it's a wonderful recognition," co-owner Jillian Barson said.
In the 2022/23 crop year, using traditional methods, Paringa Ridge produced 6,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil.
"We had record low temperatures and higher than average rainfalls this year, making it difficult to know how the oil would taste," Barson said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
The complete list of winners can be viewed in the Official Guide of the World's Best Olive Oils.
