Victorious in Victoria: Paringa Ridge Wins with Picual
Australian producer Paringa Ridge has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

In the 2019/20 crop year, the company produced 4,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Victoria using modern harvesting methods. Paringa Ridge earned the Gold Award for its Leontyna Black Label brand, a medium Picual.
"It's good to be rewarded for our effort given the Covid-19 pandemic made it difficult to maintain our harvesting regimen," co-owner Jill Barson said.
The 2021 harvest is already underway in Australia, with some officials optimistic that the country will enjoy a record-breaking harvest. However, plenty of climatic and Covid-related challenges remain.
