Located just 90 kilometers west of Santiago, the company earned its first award at the world's largest olive oil quality competition for Trattoria, a medium-intensity blend.
"This award is a source of pride and great satisfaction because it is a reflection of all the effort and teamwork," said chief executive Alfonso Acevedo. "It is also a very good indicator that validates our conviction to obtain extra virgin olive oils of the best quality."
In the 2022/23 crop year, the Hacienda Chorombo produced 600,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil from its machine-harvested groves.
"This year, we had a major challenge with water availability," Acevedo said. "The key was to use the resource with maximum efficiency to be able to reach the harvest point in optimal conditions."
"To achieve this, we rely on cutting-edge technology and continue to seek continuous improvement in the efficient use of this valuable resource," he added.
