Repeat Win for Olisur Speaks to Company’s Consistency

3 years agoBy OOT Staff

Chilean producer Olisur has won a Silver Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

Winning an award is always a good thing. Certainly, we are very happy, because it is the result of everyone's effort endorsed by international flavor experts. This award for our high quality speaks of consistency over time and the commitment we have with all our consumers, and only reinforces the fact that we always deliver the best for them.

Claudio Lovazzano said about the award

In the 2019/20 crop year, the company produced 6 million liters of extra virgin olive oil using machine methods. Olisur earned the Silver Award for its O-Live & Co brand, a delicate blend.

"Winning an award is always a good thing," Claudio Lovazzano, the company's marketing manager, said. "Certainly, we are very happy, because it is the result of everyone's effort endorsed by international flavor experts."

"This award for our high quality speaks of consistency over time and the commitment we have with all our consumers, and only reinforces the fact that we always deliver the best for them," he added.

For the producers behind Olisur, this Silver Award inspires them to keep improving, which they hope to do with a new precision farming initiative.

"The launch of our PrecisionFarming project has been very difficult, not only amid the most serious pandemic worldwide but also a long drought that our country is experiencing," Lovazzano said.

"To process all the data collected to optimize our hydric resources on our 6,5000-acres farm has been challenging, all in favor to take care of the environment and our community," he added.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
