3 years agoBy OOT Staff

Jordanian producer Al Zyoud Olive Farm & Oil Mill has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

We are proud that our product is in the most important olive oil competition in the world. My passion increases with the result of this competition. The Gold Award will add value to our product and brand.

Fayyad El Ziuod, owner

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 250 tons of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. Al Zyoud earned the Gold Award for its Alzyoudi brand, a medium blend.

"We are proud that our product is in the most important olive oil competition in the world," owner Fayyad El Ziuod said. "My passion increases with the result of this competition. The Gold Award will add value to our product and brand."

This added value is important for Jordanian producers, he added, as the main challenge in the Middle Eastern country is the high cost of production.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.

The complete list of winners can be viewed on the Official Index of the World's Best Olive Oils.
