The Istrian producer earned the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition award for a medium-intensity Buza monovarietal.
"The Kristofola family is very proud of winning its sixth Gold Award in a row," owner Marko Prgomet said. "Winning in such a prestigious competition is recognition and a testament to our efforts in producing top-quality extra virgin olive oil."
In the 2023/24 crop year, Kristofala produced 2,500 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"The biggest challenges we faced this year were related to a rather long olive ripening period and organizing a reliable and efficient harvest," Prgomet said.
