Kavalaria Estate Wins Gold Award for Koroneiki
Kavalaria Estate from Greece has won its second award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

The Crete-based producer earned a Gold Award for its Pathos brand, a medium Koroneiki. Pathos previously earned a Silver Award in 2022.
"I feel great," owner George Saridakis said. "The NYIOOC is the most important competition in the world, and the Gold Award opens up new commercial horizons for us."
In the 2022/23 crop year, Kavalaria Estate produced 8,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"It was a very difficult year for the producers of Crete due to climate change, but in the end, we were rewarded for our efforts by producing amazing quality olive oil," Saridakis said.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
