Turkish producer Palamidas has won two awards at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
We are a family-owned company, and we have always loved our products, but receiving high praise from professional tasters makes us very proud.

The Manisa-based company earned two Gold Awards for its Gourmet Selection Domat brand, a medium Domat, and Gourmet Selection Blend brand, a medium blend.
"We are a family-owned company, and we have always loved our products, but receiving high praise from professional tasters makes us very proud," co-owner Doruk Batum said.
"It also encourages us to continue down the path of perfecting our craft and producing even better extra virgin olive oil and to represent our region, our country and our hardworking colleagues the best we can," he added.
In the 2022/23 crop year, Palamidas produced 450 tons of extra virgin olive oil from Domat, Trilye and Uslu olives using traditional methods.
Despite timely rain, which helped propel Turkish producers to a record year in production, Batum said climate change remains the biggest challenge facing Palamidas.
"Due to changing climate and seasons, the timing of the harvest season changes throughout our region," he said. "On top of this, decreasing amounts of rainfall and subsequent reduction of the water table in the soil makes olive cultivating harder every year."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
