Kavalaria Estate Awarded for Koroneiki at World Competition
Greek producer Kavalaria Estate has won a Silver Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
With great effort, love, care and a lot of passion for our olive trees, we managed to produce early harvest olive oil of excellent quality.

Situated in central Crete, the company earned its premier NYIOOC accolade for its Pathos brand, a medium Koroneiki.
"I'm very happy about this award," owner George Saridakis said. "It is a very big reward for all the efforts we make all year round, taking care of our olive groves so that we can produce olive oil of excellent quality."
In the 2021/22 crop year, the company produced seven tons of olive oil using traditional methods.
For the producers behind Kavalaria Estate, this year's award is especially gratifying after the climatic challenges faced during the previous harvest.
"It was a very difficult year for olive oil producers in Crete due to the high temperatures in the area," he said. "But with great effort, love, care and a lot of passion for our olive trees, we managed to produce early harvest olive oil of excellent quality."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
