Gallo Worldwide Wins Six Awards at World Competition
The major Portuguese producer Gallo Worldwide has won six awards at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
These awards mean that we have worked well, that our work has been recognized and that we continue to be appreciated by the best palates. We continue to maintain our quality and enrich the olive oil experience and that makes us proud.

The Ribatejo-based company earned four Gold Awards and two Silver Awards. Since 2020, Gallo Worldwide has won 22 awards at the NYIOOC.
"These awards mean that we have worked well, that our work has been recognized and that we continue to be appreciated by the best palates," marketing manager Matilde Almeida said. "We continue to maintain our quality and enrich the olive oil experience and that makes us proud."
The company earned the Gold Awards for its medium-intensity blends: Gallo Azeite Colheita Madura, Gallo Azeite Clássico, Gallo Azeite Grande Escolha and Gallo Ancestral.
The two Silver Awards were earned for its Azeite Reserva brand, a delicate blend, and Gallo Azeite Bio, an organic medium Picual.
The awards are even more gratifying for the team behind Gallo Worldwide after a harvest season severely impacted by the effects of inflation and the uncertain macroeconomic outlook for the region.
"It was a difficult year for olive oil producers, and this made the campaign difficult due to the inflated price and the demand for quality raw materials," Almeida said.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
