a year agoBy OOT Staff

The Olive Connection from Greece has won an award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

We're very happy. We try our best to give to our customers the best quality every year.

Andreas Kouskoulas, owner

The Kalamata-based producer earned a Silver Award for its Kouskoulas Premium brand, a medium-intensity Koroneiki, which previously earned Gold Awards in 2020 and 2021.

"We're very happy," owner Andreas Kouskoulas said. "We try our best to give our customers the best quality every year."

In the 2022/23 crop year, the company produced 20 tons of extra virgin olive oil. Kouskoulas cited hot and dry weather during the summer as the producer's most significant challenge.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.

The complete list of winners can be viewed in the Official Guide to the World's Best Olive Oils.
