Frantoio Agostini Triumph at World Competition
Italian producer Frantoio Agostini has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
This award is an incredible honor. The fact that such a prestigious panel awarded us the highest rating once again confirms the immense potential that an undervalued land, like Marche, has within itself.
Elia Agostini, marketing manager
The Marche-based company earned its twelfth award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest for its Ascolana Tenera brand, a medium-intensity Ascolana.
"This award is an incredible honor," marketing manager Elia Agostini said. "The fact that such a prestigious panel awarded us the highest rating once again confirms the immense potential that an undervalued land, like Marche, has within itself."
In the 2023/24 crop year, Frantoio Agostini produced 80,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"This harvest has been the toughest ever in Marche," Agostini said. "The lack of water hit harder than ever before, and the extremely high temperature that occurred in October (at the peak of our production season) stressed our olives and challenged us beyond belief. However, at the end of the day, the resilience we and our land have shown makes us so proud."
