The Sicilian producer earned its seventh consecutive recognition at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its Le Case di Lavinia brand, an organic medium Tonda Iblea.
"For us, it is an immense joy; being awarded for seven consecutive years is a great satisfaction and proof that our efforts, especially in these most difficult recent years, are appreciated and recognized," said co-owner Mariagrazia Spanó. "We are very happy."
This year's award was especially gratifying for the producers after a challenging harvest due to the Mediterranean island's ongoing drought.
"Climate changes are causing us serious difficulties: increasingly poor harvests and changing oil characteristics," Spanó said. "But despite everything, we continue to put all our effort into producing the best oil possible to continue to have satisfied customers and friends convinced that they want to choose our oils year after year."
