Istria’s Agrolaguna Wins 3 Awards at 2024 NYIOOC
Agrolaguna from Croatia has won three Gold Awards at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
This award is a confirmation of our dedicated work, passion and commitment to producing high-quality olive oil.
Iris Butković, head of production
The Istrian producer earned awards for its medium-intensity Ol Istria Picholine brand and two medium-intensity blends, Ol Istria Ekstra Djevičansko and Ol Istria Selection. Since 2019, Agrolaguna has earned a combined 10 awards.
"This award is a confirmation of our dedicated work, passion and commitment to producing high-quality olive oil," said Iris Butković, the head of olive oil production.
"For us, this means recognition for our efforts and the quality of our products, as well as additional motivation to continue improving and enriching the world around us with premium extra virgin olive oil," she added.
In the 2023/24 crop year, Agrolaguna harvested 130,000 tons of olives from its 65,000 trees on the Istrian peninsula.
"This year has been particularly challenging due to attacks by the olive fruit fly, but with extra effort and care towards our olive groves, we managed to keep the fruit healthy until harvest," Butković said.
"Let this year be remembered as a year of challenges, but also as a year in which we showcased our passion for producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil," she added.
