Italian producer Frantoio Agostini has won two awards at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
Working with agriculture means working as hard as you can for an entire year without knowing if you are really making the best choices or not... That's why we're so grateful to all the people who are behind NYIOOC because, at the end of the year, they're saying that our hard work has paid off.

Located in the southern region of Marche, the company earned a pair of Gold Awards for its Sublìmis, a medium blend, and a medium-intensity Ascolana tenera.
"Working with agriculture means working as hard as you can for an entire year without knowing if you are really making the best choices or not," export manager Elia Agostini said.
"You can only rely on experience and the bond with your land," he added. "That's why we're so grateful to all the people who are behind NYIOOC because, at the end of the year, they're saying that our hard work has paid off."
Frantoio Agostini has experienced frequent success at the World Olive Oil Competition, winning 11 awards since 2016.
Like many of his fellow producers, Agostini cited drought as the company's most significant challenge in producing award-winning extra virgin olive oil.
"The main challenge we had to face was drought," he said. "In the last 10 years, we started diversifying our production by cultivating olive groves in different locations: southern, central and northern Marche."
"We also diversified the altitude, with groves by the sea, in the hills and near the mountains," Agostini added. "Thanks to this geographical differentiation, we managed to resist."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
