2 years agoBy OOT Staff

Francesco Cillo from Italy has won a Gold Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

The company produces extra virgin olive oil in Basilicata (Italy) from olives using traditional harvesting methods.

We are proud of this recognition and surely our loyal customers will like it too. NYIOOC is an important event in the world in which to publicize and promote the culture and excellence of extra virgin olive oil.

Andrea Amadori

Francesco Cillo won a Gold Award for its Otello Intense Fruity, a robust blend produced by Francesco Cillo in Basilicata, Italy.

"This campaign has been positive," said Andrea Amadori, owner of Francesco Cillo. "It was a year with the principle of a regular winter with infrequent rainfall and a spring characterized by a mild climate. The production, which has increased compared to the previous year, has ensured healthy and high-quality olives, ripened in canonical times.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.

The complete list of winners can be viewed in the Official Guide to the World's Best Olive Oils
