Vallarella Wins Gold at 2022 NYIOOC
Vallarella from Italy has won a Gold Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
The company produces organic extra virgin olive oil in Puglia (Italy) from Coratina olives using traditional harvesting methods and their own mill in Puglia.
"We are super excited and can't believe we made it so far," said Tatiana Platon, the marketing manager for Vallarella. "We hope this important step will help us to introduce our precious Apulian Gold into the American market."
Vallarella won a Gold Award for its organic robust Coratina.
"The Harvest is an exciting time of the year for us," Platon told Olive Oil Times. "This year was exceptional because all around Italy there were weather problems with hailstorms and a very hot summer. Fortunately, our land was safe from storms and we took care of the trees with a drip irrigation system, so we had a good production. We are very happy."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
