Fattoria di Volmiano Wins Gold in NYIOOC Debut
Italian producer Fattoria di Volmiano has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 18,000 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil in Tuscany from Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo olives using traditional methods. Fattoria di Volmiano earned the Gold Award for its organic medium blend.
"I am extremely excited to receive this award," owner Lapo Gondi said. "Having just started producing this new label, it will be a great incentive to continue and improve further."
He added that this award caps off what a successful year for the producer and validated his bet on starting the new brand.
"We decided to create this new label starting from the replacement of the mill and making a huge selection both on the olives and on the oil produced," Gondi said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. The annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
