OPG Magdalena Plenković Wins Gold for Atena Hvar

OPG Magdalena Plenković from Croatia has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

We feel very happy and proud of this award. For our company, this means a lot and we hope that it will help us in future placement on the world market.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 400 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. OPG Magdalena Plenković earned its first-ever Gold Award for Atena Hvar, a medium blend.

"We feel very happy and proud of this award," owner Magdalena Plenković said. "For our company, this means a lot and we hope that it will help us in future placement on the world market."

Plenković told Olive Oil Times the 2020 harvest was far from easy, with drought conditions causing problems in her groves.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. The annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
