Carefully Crafted Carolea Yields Award for TRE Olive
TRE Olive from Italy has won a Silver Award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
We are honored to be among the producers of the world's best olive oils. Our team has worked extremely hard over the last few years to improve not only our equipment and processes but to also participate in industry courses and seminars.

The Calabria-based producer earned its fourth NYIOOC accolade since 2020 for a medium Carolea. The oil previously earned a Silver Award in 2020 and Gold Award in 2022. TRE Olive's Campo Dieci brand also earned a Gold Award in 2020.
"We are honored to be among the producers of the world's best olive oils," co-owner Joe Maruca said. "Our team has worked extremely hard over the last few years to improve not only our equipment and processes but also to participate in industry courses and seminars."
"Our hunger to continue learning has made a huge difference and has paid off with awards year after year," he added.
Despite the company's return to winning ways in New York, Maruca said they faced plenty of challenges in the 2022/23 crop year, especially the unusually hot and dry summer.
"It was an 'off-year' [in the olive trees' natural alternate bearing cycle] as expected, and the extremely hot summer reduced production more than anticipated," he said. "Rains a month or so before harvest helped tremendously."
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
