De Robertis ‘Honored and Humbled’ With NYIOOC Gold
Italian producer Azienda De Robertis has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are truly honored and humbled. Thank you to the De Robertis team for the hard work year after year.
Paolo Milicic, co-owner
The company produces extra virgin olive oil in Puglia using traditional methods. Azienda de Robertis earned its second cosecutive Gold Award for its De Robertis Chiaroscuro brand, a medium Coratina.
"We are truly honored and humbled," co-owner Paolo Milicic said. "Thank you to the De Robertis team for the hard work year after year."
As did many producers, Milicic said that the Covid-19 pandemic created plenty of challenges during the 2020 harvest.
"We had a good harvest this year as we continue to properly nurture our trees year after year to produce that perfect olive," Milicic said. "We will keep pushing forward. Even though this pandemic situation has taken its toll worldwide, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and we all can get back to a normal situation soon."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
