In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 1,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Crete using machine methods. Evripidis earned the Silver Award for its Manoli brand, a medium Koroneiki.
"We are very happy with this award," owner Manolis Melampianakis said. "It is confirmation for our work and for our love for our product."
He added that the award is especially gratifying after a tough 2020 harvest in which the weather hampered efforts to harvest the olives.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
