Castelboom Wins Gold With Organic Gentile di Larino
Italian producer Castelboom has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
Winning at the NYIOOC is an amazing confirmation of all the hard work and investment that has been made so far. It is also a great opportunity for the olive oil community to know Collettivo Castelboom and hopefully also help in promoting our product.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 1,000 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil in Molise using traditional methods. Castelboom earned a Gold Award for its organic medium Gentile di Larino.
"Winning at the NYIOOC is an amazing confirmation of all the hard work and investment that has been made so far," co-owner Danilo Buccella said. "It is also a great opportunity for the olive oil community to know Collettivo Castelboom and hopefully also help in promoting our product."
The producers behind Castelboom had to overcome an unusually dry summer, along with the usual logistical challenges of harvesting in their remote region of central Italy to craft their award-winning oil.
"Apart from the logistical challenges that we faced every year due to remoteness of our olive groves, there was a lack of precipitation from June to August," Buccella said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
