Azienda De Robertis Awarded for Third Straight Year at NYIOOC
Puglian producer Azienda De Robertis has won a Gold Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its De Robertis Chiaroscuro, a robust Coratina monovarietal.
We are very excited once again to receive this prestigious award and recognition. Our hard work and dedication to produce a high-quality extra virgin olive oil pays off. We strive year after year to ensure that we increase the bar to a higher level using new techniques and processes.
Paolo Milicic, co-owner
In the 2019/20 season, the company produced between 30,000 and 40,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
Co-owner Paolo Milicic said that the recognition that comes with the award will motivate his team to worker even harder next year.
"We are very excited once again to receive this prestigious award and recognition," he said. "Our hard work and dedication to produce a high-quality extra virgin olive oil pays off. We strive year after year to ensure that we increase the bar to a higher level using new techniques and processes."
Among the challenges with which Milicic and his team were faced was Puglia's hot and dry summer.
"2019 was challenging in terms of ensuring that our trees received the proper amount of water given the hot summer in our region," he said.
