Acecasa Awarded for Picual at 2023 NYIOOC
Acecasa from Spain has triumphed for the second-straight year at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
It is always a satisfaction to obtain this award in the contest with the most presence worldwide.

Situated in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain's second-largest olive oil-producing region, the company earned a Silver Award for its Benizar brand, a medium Picual. Benizar previously earned a Gold Award in 2022.
"It is always satisfying to obtain this award in the contest with the most presence worldwide," production chief José Antonio Gomez said.
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company produced 3,500 tons of extra virgin olive oil. Antonio said timing the harvest properly is always Acacasa's most significant challenge.
"The biggest challenge in this campaign has been to be able to continue the process in pursuit of a homogeneous quality," he said.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil content. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
