Zied Slimane, CEO
The company earned a Silver Award for its Zenolive brand, an organic, delicate blend of Chetoui and Chemlali olives.
"Winning at the NYIOOC is a substantial accomplishment for our brand, as it can increase recognition, trust and validate the quality of our products, reaffirming our commitment to our customers," chief executive Zied Slimane said.
"This recognition can also help to convince our customers that we are delivering on our promises to provide exceptional olive oil," he added.
Slimane cited finding enough people to complete the harvest and climate change as the main challenges he faces in producing extra virgin olive oil.
"Firstly, climate change can alter rainfall patterns and temperatures, impacting the quality and quantity of the olives that can be harvested," he said. "Additionally, labor resources are another challenge. Therefore, it is essential to plan carefully and pay attention to details."
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
