The company produces extra virgin olive oil in Tunisia from Chetoui olives using traditional methods.
We are so excited to see brand get the Award and Expose to the World.
Tiger Kong, award-winning producer
Tiger Power won a Gold Award for its 1629 brand, a medium-intensity Chetoui monovarietal that the company produces in Tunisia.
When asked about this particular harvest season, Kong cited the changing climate as a major challenge.
"Climate change is a phenomenon that, by its specificity, evolves so rapidly that it is impossible for a plant like the olive tree to immediately adapt to such a sudden change," he told Olive Oil Times.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
The complete list of winners can be viewed in the Official Guide to the World's Best Olive Oils.
