Greek producer Terra Creta has won three awards at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
It is always positive to see that 12 months of hard work with the olive trees and quality-oriented practices in the olive mill are recognized and rewarded.

The Crete-based company earned three Gold Awards for an organic medium Koroneiki, a medium Koroneiki and its Grand Cru. Since 2018, Terra Creta has earned 11 awards at the NYIOOC.
"It is always positive to see that 12 months of hard work with the olive trees and quality-oriented practices in the olive mill are recognized and rewarded," producer and sensory evaluation expert Emmanouli Karpadakis said.
"When that comes from a prestigious competition like NYIOOC, it becomes even better," she added.
While Terra Creta enjoyed a fruitful 2022/23 crop year, Karpadakis said she expected future harvests would be more challenging.
"We had an excellent production year for both quantity and quality," she said. "Of course, not every region was at the same level, but still, we are happy, and farmers as well, for the results."
"Of course, we know that every year is not the same, so we are planning very carefully for the next years, which we believe will be more challenging," Karpadakis added.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
