Costa del Pedone Wins Two Awards at World Competition
Società Agricola Regazzano added two Silver Awards to its NYIOOC wins in its sixth straight year of victory at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
Winning in this important contest gives us the strength to aim to do even better. We want to make our oil known: a small reality in such a precious territory.
Silvia Melosini, Owner, Società Agricola Regazzano
The company produces organic extra virgin olive oil in Lazio, Italy from Canino, Frantoio and Leccino olives.
It was a difficult year, company owner Silvia Melosini noted when she learned of the win.
"The last harvest was very difficult especially for organic crops. We had very bad weather conditions and a poor harvest. Nevertheless, we tried to keep the quality high,” Melosini said.
Nevertheless, the company managed to pull out its fourth win for Costa del Pedone Canino, an organic delicate Canino, and its third consecutive win for Costa del Pedone Blend, an organic delicate blend.
"Winning in this important contest gives us the strength to aim to do even better. We want to make our oil known: a small reality in such a precious territory," Melosini said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
