The Turkish producer picked up the award for its Nermin Hanım Zeytinligi Ayvalık brand, a medium Ayvalik.
"We are absolutely honored to be awarded at the NYIOOC, which confirms that we produced a high-quality olive oil," owner Nermin Gokduman said. "The quality of our Nermin Hanım Zeytinligi product is proven and the brand value is increasing in our local market."
"The award helps us to improve customer trust in our products and their market value," he added.
In the 2019/20 season, Gokduman Tarım Gıda Turizm produced 100 tons of extra virgin olive oil using mechanical methods.
Gokduman said that while the olive harvesting season is always challenging, 2019 ended up being a particularly good year for him.
"We completed our new mill in 2019 and it was very exiting for us to produce our own products there," he said. "Olive harvesting is challenging every year, but we were lucky in 2019. The quality of the olives was quite good in our region, Edremit, compared with the last few years."
