The Dalmatian producer earned its first-ever award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its Clavis brand, a medium blend.
"After winning at the NYIOOC, I feel very proud," owner Ivan Glavina said. "For OPG Glavina, this is a clear confirmation of our good work in the growing and milling of olives, and we will continue to improve in the future."
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company used traditional methods to produce 1,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil.
"Agro-meteorological conditions were ideal, and the yield per tree was average," Glavina said. "The olive fruits were healthy, and the quality was outstanding."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
