Coastal Croatian producer OPG Anđelko Pahljina has won two Gold Awards at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
This award is proof to us that we are doing the right thing. We also have great ambitions to continue our successful work next year and to repeat this success.

Situated on the island of Rab, just a few kilometers off the coast of Croatia's northern littoral, the family farm earned the two awards for a pair of medium blends sold under its Anima Arba brand.
"After winning the Gold Award, we feel great satisfaction with the recognition for all the effort invested throughout the year," owner Marin Pahljina said.
"This award is proof to us that we are doing the right thing," he added. "We also have great ambitions to continue our successful work next year and to repeat this success. I hope we will achieve that."
In the 2021/22 crop year, the company produced 1,200 liters of extra virgin olive oil from its millenary trees.
"The whole year was very demanding," Pahljina said. "From the drought at the beginning of the year to the appearance of the olive fly in the middle."
"The harvest was satisfactory, with nice weather at the end of September and the beginning of October," he added. "In the end, we are still satisfied with the quantity and quality of our oil."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
