MF Agropastoril Wins Two NYIOOC Awards with First Commerical Harvest
MF Agropastoril from Brazil has won two Gold Awards at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are extremely happy to see that, despite our short history of only five years, our daily work and dedication were recognized.

Located on a 21-hectare farm in Encruzilhada do Sul, Rio Grande do Sol, the company earned the awards for a medium Arbequina and medium Picual, both sold under the Pedregais brand.
"We are extremely happy to see that, despite our short history of only five years, our daily work and dedication were recognized," co-owner Flavo Fernandes said. "Love for what we do, perseverance and respect for nature are represented in these awards."
In the 2021/22 crop year, the company produced 1,200 liters of extra virgin olive oil from Arbequina, Koroneiki, Picual, Manzanilla of Sevilla, Pendolino, Galega and Coratina olives using traditional methods.
"In 2022 we had our first commercial production, still harvesting only in part of the olive grove," Fernandes said. "We had to face the dry weather, the challenges of irrigation and with that the anticipation of the harvest."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
