Olea Estates Celebrates Debut Award at World Competition
Olea Estates from Greece has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
To win at NYIOOC is a huge accomplishment. This would have made our great-grandfather proud, who purchased the land and planted olive trees in Greece with what he earned working in the United States.

The Lakonian producer earned its first World Competition award for its Olea Gold brand, a medium-intensity organic Koroneiki.
"Four generations of the Chronis family have grown and worked in our fields," said co-owner Demosthenis Chronis. "To win at NYIOOC is a huge accomplishment."
"This would have made our great-grandfather proud, who purchased the land and planted olive trees in Greece with what he earned working in the United States," he added. "It has been a full circle for the Chronis family."
This year's award was especially gratifying for the family after the challenging harvest they faced.
"This year wasn't the best year for harvest quantity," Chronis confirmed. "Although quantity was extremely low compared to the previous year, quality was good."
"The drought due to no rain this year brought the quantities down, but on the other hand, the high temperatures helped to keep olive fly and other pests at low levels," he added.
