Ojai Olive Oil Company Awarded for Tuscan Blend in New York
Ojai Olive Oil Company from the United States has won an award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
It’s always a thrill to win at the NYIOOC. This year makes it over a dozen total medals for us, which is exciting. We like the independent confirmation that our oils are as good as we think they are.

The California-based producer earned a Gold Award for its Tuscan brand, an organic medium blend, which previously earned a Silver Award in 2018.
"It’s always a thrill to win at the NYIOOC," owner Phil Asquith said. "This year makes it over a dozen total medals for us, which is exciting. We like the independent confirmation that our oils are as good as we think they are."
Since 2014, five of Ojai's brands have been awarded at the world's largest extra virgin olive oil quality contest, including two Gold Awards last year.
Despite challenging conditions in the 2022/23 crop year for some California producers, Asquith said his harvest was good, attributing his success to the experience of his harvesting and milling team.
"This was a good harvest and milling season for us," he said. "Picking went well, and our crop was bigger than expected. We’ve been doing this for a long time and have a great team, so things tend to run pretty smoothly."
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
